Bios

Artur Kaganovskiy

Born in 1986 in Moscow, Artur Kaganovskiy was discovered at the age of six and mentored by the legendary violinist Isaac Stern. It was with his encouragement and help with which he immigrated to the United States with his family in 1993. He holds both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Degree from The Juilliard School in New York. He studied with violinists Pinchas Zukerman ( Ottawa), Grigory Kalinovsky, Zakhar Bron, Victor Danchenko, Lewis Kaplan, Masao Kawasaki,  Philip Setzer (Emerson Quartet) and Joey Corpus.

His career launched in 2007 when he made his debut as the first prize winner of the Waldo de Mayo International Violin Competition followed by his solo debut at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium, conducted by David Gilbert. 

He gives countless concerts all over Europe, North and South America, China, as a soloist with orchestras such as Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Napa Valley Symphony, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Harbin National Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Belgrade or “Transilvania” Philharmonic Orchestra of  Cluj to name a few. As a soloist and chamber musician, he performed with such artists as Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Shlomo Mintz, Rami Solomonow, Michael Tree and James Newton Howard.

In addition to his solo career, Artur Kaganovskiy  is currently a professor at the “International Academy of Arts” and judge at the International Competition in Antwerp, Belgium as well as  holding masterclasses worldwide.

Since 2022 he is founder and the artistic director of the “Kaganovskiy Musical Evenings” concert series in the Roman Catholic Episcopal Palace in Oradea, Romania.

Since 2016 he has been a recording artist for Centaur Records which feature recordings of Tchaikovsky and Brahms Violin Concertos as well as a Schubert Album. He is also a recording artist for Chesky records, featuring David Chesky’s Third Violin Concerto amongst other works for violin and orchestra with the Chelsea Symphony and Yaniv Segal conducting.

In addition to all this, he is also a Master Luthier and his instruments are being played by renowned professional musicians from all over the world. 

His concert violin is his 1720  Carlo Antonio Testore “Ex-V.Pikayzen” and a 1784 Ferdinand Gagliano paired with his 1810 F.X.Tourte bow.

Eszter Kaganovskiy

Eszter Kaganovskiy holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj (2004), while studying viola with Sorin Gherbanovschi.  She holds her Master Degree from Western Illinois University in the United States (2007) and holds a  Performance Certificate from DePaul University in Chicago ( 2009) studying with the renowned Israeli-American violist Rami Solomonow.

From  2007 – 2009, she was a contracted full time member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago ( training orchestra of the Chicago Symphony).  Throughout her career, she has worked with conductors as the legendary Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink, Seiji Ozawa, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Sir Mark Elder, Cliff Colnot and Emil Simon. 

She was a guest artist  at the Verbier Festival (Switzerland), the Bowdoin International Music Festival (New England), the Internazionale Bachakademie Stuttgart, Bayreuth International Youth Music Festival (Germany), “Regina Viorii” Festival (Chisinau, Moldova) and the “Night Serenades” Festival (Georgia).

As a chamber musician, she has performed with Ilya Kaler, Robert Levin, Viktor Tretyakov, Rami Solomonow, Liana Isakadze and Anthony Newman among others. 
As a soloist, she performed with Spectrum Symphony of New York, Orchestra Higieno Ruvalcaba (Guadalajara, Mexico), Chisinau Chamber Orchestra (Moldova)  and the “Transilvania “ Philharmonic Orchestra (Cluj Napoca, Romania).

Throughout her career, she has performed at Lincoln Center and in such concert halls as Chicago Symphony Center, Berlin Philharmonic Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York. 
She is the co-founder of the “Kaganovskiy Musical Evenings” concert series in the Roman Catholic Episcopal Palace in Oradea and also Professor at the “International Academy of Arts” as well as  judge at the International Competition in Antwerp, Belgium.
Her concert viola is a 1764 J.B.Guadagnini copy, built by Artur Kaganovskiy in 2024.

Ágnes Kállay

Born in Budapest, Ágnes Kállay is a graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music (2006). As a winner of the prestigious DAAD scholarship, she studied with Maria Kliegel at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany and from 2008 with Nick Tzavaras and the Shanghai Quartet at Montclair State University (USA). She holds her Doctorate Degree  from Stony Brook University (2013) (USA), where she studied with cellist Colin Carr.
She won three consecutive times the Ackerman Chamber Music prize ( 2010, 2011 and 2012).

She is the first place winner of the 2004 Alpe Adria International Violoncello Competition in Gorizia, Italy; and the 2007 Beethoven Chamber Music Competition in London, UK. 
In 2010 she was selected among the best 13 cellists at the 5th Unisa International String competition in South Africa. 

She participated in masterclasses with Ralph Kirshbaum, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Philippe Muller, Guido Schiefen, Alberto Portugheis, Martin Lovett, Déri György, Gulyás Márta, Ida Kavafian, Leon Fleisher, Pieter Wispelwey, Joel Krosnick and Emanuel Ax.
In 2010 she attended Tanglewood Summer Music Festival, where she worked with Steven Ansell, Norman Fischer, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Michael Tilson Thomas, Herbert Blomstedt, Stefan Asbury, Robert Spano and John Williams.
In 2011 she was a finalist  with her flute trio at Coleman Chamber Music Competition, in Los Angeles.
In 2013 with her piano trio, Trio Artica, she received Special Recognition at Plowman Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, Missouri.

Since September 2013 she is a professor at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and guest  professor at the Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest.  From 2024 she is also professor at the “International Academy of Arts”  and judge at the International Competition in Antwerp, Belgium and also holds masterclasses at Renaissance and Baroque Week in Gyor (Hungary), at Silicon Valley Music Festival in California, at Crescendo Summer Institute, Tokaj, at Chamber Music Festival Dolomiti, Italy, and at the “Zenél a Kastély” Festival, Gödöllő.

Ágnes Kállay is the co-founder and cellist of the Patachich Trio, founded in 2023 in addition to being a permanent cellist of the ‘Kaganovskiy Musical Evenings”’ concert series in Oradea, Romania. As a baroque cellist, she performs with Camerata Hungarica, Mandel Quartet, Excanto, Marquise and Savaria Baroque early music ensembles.
